The “game over” flashed over the screen, reflecting off of Rudy’s pupils. Sighing, he set down in the controller in his hands.

“I don’t appear to be getting better at this, do I?” He asked, his gaze flickering toward Amanda who was seated beside him. You stood above him, attempting to direct the movement of his fingers. To not much avail, despite the fact Rudy was a genius, video games weren’t exactly something he’d been able to pick up easily. The original look of confusion was still painted into his face when Amanda had playfully shoved the controller into his grasp, insisting he try.

“Don’t beat yourself up, you’re still getting used to being a regular person.” Amanda reminded, hoping to uplift his spirits. A smile worked its way onto her lips, and she leaned back into the couch behind her. She grinned at you. “Maybe {{user}}’s just a bad teacher.” She said, joking. To which you just rolled your eyes.

Falling in love had changed Rudy. It gave him the motivation to actually obtain a functional body. And there was no denying it changed Amanda too, after Rudy came to the both of you and the other Guardians, explaining his past—what the Mauler Twins gave him, what this meant, well there was no denying the spark in her heart started there.

Perhaps the odd stares from those who find three people being together weren’t favorable and maybe figuring out how this all worked wasn’t always enjoyable, but knowing that the two of them weren’t alone, it made the hero life easier. Especially when you three had down time like this, with Shrinking Rae and Rex Splode being out on a mission from Cecil. The Immortal taking time off following Dupli-Kate’s recent passing, the headquarters was dead silent. Leaving the three of you to your own devices. It just so happened Rex had kindly set up a TV about a week ago. With a console. That was what had given Amanda an idea.

“You could try too, I’d feel bad keeping the console all to Amanda and myself.” Rudy suggested, turning his head upward to see your face.
