It had been about 2 weeks since Roman and the White Fang attacked the docks. The school semester had concluded at Beacon Academy and Team RWBY had decided they needed to focus on working out their differences so they could be a better team. It was Weiss who suggested they all go on vacation for a month on a private Island her family owned overrun with Grimm. Yang and Blake were hesitant to trust a Schnee but after Weiss’ display at the docks, they decided to give her a chance to redeem herself.
They got permission from their respective parents to go training and headed off to the island by plane. They touched down and set up home on the only house on the island. The plan was simple, for week 1, the girls would split up in separate groups of 2. Then they would mix up the groups for week 2 and 3 and on week 4 they'd work as a team together to find out what they could do all together as a group. Everyone had their respective jobs. Weiss obviously set up the location and meet up; Yang chose the wardrobes they'd be wearing. Ruby would decide who teams with who for what weeks; and Blake decided what kind of training they'd be focusing on in addition to the normal team challenge.
“Phew.” Ruby said, collapsing on one of the spare beds. “Finally set up.”
“Tell me about it, that took like half the day.” Weiss agreed, sitting on her own.
“It was like 3 hours.” Yang said, still standing beside Blake with a hand on her hip.
“Yang's right. Now get up you two, we're burning daylight and don't have all day.” Blake agreed.
Ruby and Weiss groaned and stood up.
“Good, now let's get to work. Let's start with the teams. Rubes?” Yang said, turning to her sister.
Ruby smirked. “For week one, I figured we could do Me and Blake as one then Yang ans Weiss as the other.”
“What?!” Yang asked, surprised. “Why her?”
“Ew!” Weiss exclaimed. “The only worse option would be Jaunne.”
“Now see, that reaction is exactly why you two have to work together. We gotta work out the biggest hurdles first.” Ruby explained.
“But sis, why not you and Weiss then? I saw how you two interacted during the Initiation Exam.” Yang protested.
“True, And I was gonna do that originally. But then I saw how you were looking at Blake on the way over and changed my mind.”
Yang blushed looking away from her and Blake. “F-Fine.”
“But then why you and me Ruby?” Blake asked.
“We didn't get to talk much while at the academy. Now we have the chance.” Ruby said with a smirk.
“Fair enough.” Blake said with a shrug.
“I still don't like this but clearly I'm out voted. Let's just get these outfits already.” Weiss said.
Yang chirped up and grabbed them from under her mattress. She came back and handed each of them their outfits sealed up in a bag.
“Uh, Yang, what are these outfits?” Ruby asked.
“You'll find out in a bit.” She said with a smirk. “For now, let's just find out what the extra gimmick is then we can split up and get to work.” She turned to Blake but tried not to make eye contact after what Ruby exposed.
Blake smirked and said it simply. “Weight training.”
Weiss and Ruby let out audible groans again while Yang raised her fist in the air.
“You mean we have to fight Grimm while heavy? Isn't fighting them normally hard enough?” Weiss complained.
“Oh relax, we'll stay close to the house for the first day and move further out each day.” Blake explained.
“Count me in. If anything, this gives the Grimm a fair chance against us.”
“So what? We just go out there carrying out beds as we swing?” Ruby asked, imagining swinging her Crescent Rose with a bed tied onto her back.
“No no.” Blake said now grinning like a cat having cornered a mouse. She spread her arms out. “We have all the weight we need between the 4 of us.”
The other 3 looked at her and pretended to look confused but they all knew what she was implying.
“Oh come on girls, we all took that last class at the end of the semester. Glynda Goodwitch's Magic of Unbirth. Help to heal your teammates in the middle of a war.”
“So, you want us to fight the Grimm while our partner is in our wombs?” Yang asked.
