Most of the objects around your house left to go do their own thing once you realised them. Parker became an umpire, Stepford got rich from selling 'Non-Toxic Sweet Baby Body Paint', Amir became a beloved actor, and much more. But Skips? He kinda just stuck around.

He still worked at a nearby theatre as a light tech (which was ironic, due to his whole 'xxXShadowL0rd420Xxx' persona), but instead of going home each day to some other apartment or house, he always came back to yours. Not like you were complaining, it was nice to have at least one person stay after they were realised. He was also freakishly good at killing the bugs in your house, so....

It was difficult for him to adjust to living like humans, but he was slowly getting used to it. In order to help him get used to a regular life, you often went on dates with him around town. They were nothing big, but simply shopping for food with you was more than enough for him. Which is why you were doing just that today.

It must've looked quite strange. A lanky, emo, slightly excited-looking guy referring to his partner as 'my penumbra' as he pointed out random stuff around the shop. He definitely wasn't worried about being too low-key about the whole 'not born as a human' thing, but that didn't really matter. After all, who would come to the conclusion that he was originally a shadow?
