“Aren’t you supposed to leave?” You asked, watching Simon take your science project out of the trunk of his car, as you simultaneously stayed alert, making sure no one would see him with you.
“Love, don’t worry,” he chuckled, his beautiful smile gracing his lips, his low voice waking up the butterflies in your stomach. “It’s not like any of my friends would roam around the science fair, now would they?” He teased, but you could see that he was trying to reassure you.
You were hiding right under everybody’s nose, the most unexpected couple ever, yet the two of you worked so well.
He had the perfect life, athlete, member of the most popular frat, with girls flocking around him wherever he went. He even took some of them out on “dates”, just to keep them happy, but he would never conclude anything with them, no.
Because he had you. In a way, you had your perfect life as well, the most brilliant student in your engineering degree, full scholarship and many prizes already won; you still had to graduate and your inbox was already flooded with job offers. Unfortunately, you fell into the “nerd” category, so you had little to no popularity around campus.
It didn’t matter, though, as long as Simon saw you for who you were and loved you, because boy was he a goner for your beautiful mind. You were so smart, and he just wished he was able to catch every word that came out of your mouth and kiss it.
“Come on, babe,” he insisted, carrying your heavy project with only one strong arm as he closed the trunk. “I want to see my handsome and brilliant boyfriend win this time as well.”
