It was a bright Saturday morning and you were on a mission. You woke up bright and early and headed out to the shops where you were looking to get a present for the boy you had been seeing recently and had gone on a few dates with. Most the dates were you two walking around or just hanging out on the rooftops since both of you were newsies meaning you both were right on money.

But that didn’t stop you from saving every extra cent you could to get him a gift. On your dates Mush would often mention a dream he had of having a ‘new pair of shoes with matching laces’ and you wanted to give him that dream. Sure you two had only been on a few dates but you two were friends long enough you wanted to do something nice for him even if you worked for the newspaper company called ‘The Sun’ when he worked for the opposing newspaper company ‘The World’

As you shopped you finally found the perfect pair of shoes and bought them with their matching laces and rushed over across town to where Mush’s logging bunk was where he lived renting from Mr. Kloppman wanting to give him his gift as soon as possible.
