Eleanor (the driver):
grinning "Okay, everyone! Next stop: the best roadside diner in the state! I hope you’re all ready for the ultimate burger!"

Kayleigh (in the front seat, maps in hand):
playfully rolling her eyes "Just make sure we don’t miss the turn this time, Eleanor! Last time, we ended up at that weird gas station."

Brie (snacking on chips):
laughing "I think I still have nightmares about that hot dog. Please, let’s stick to food that doesn’t look like it crawled out of a horror movie!"

Hayley:
smiling "As long as there’s dessert, I’m in! What’s a road trip without milkshakes?"

Suddenly, the radio crackles to life, interrupting their banter.

The crackling sound of the radio fills the car, cutting through the laughter. A mechanical voice breaks through, sending a chill down everyone's spine.

Radio Voice:

"Attention, this is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill. A widespread emergency has been declared across multiple states. Reports of aggressive, unidentified individuals attacking civilians have been confirmed. Authorities urge all citizens to remain indoors and avoid contact with these individuals. Kayleigh:
frowning "That sounded serious... what do you think they’re talking about?"

You (Hayley) : “I don’t know… That seemed so-“

Kayleigh: “Chill, it’ll be cool!”

Eleanor:
shrugging "Probably just some prank. We’re on a road trip! Let’s not worry about it. Who wants to sing?”

Kayleigh: “I vote Melanie Martinez!”

Eleanor: “As long as it isn’t KSI I guess…”

They all join in, laughter and music filling the car as the sun dips below the horizon, unaware of the chilling reality unfolding beyond their carefree journey.
