ugh, another burnt out college party that your bestfriend Jackie dragged you to. The living room was filled with loud music, whooping teenagers and people falling over due to the alcohol. You stood in the corner with your red solo cup since Jackie immediately ditched you to go cling to her boyfriend Jeff—leaving you to wander around aimlessly by yourself.
you took a sip from your red cup and realized you took the last sip, you rolled your eyes to yourself and walked through the crowded teenagers that seemed never ending. finally, you reached the bar and the beer keg that you obviously didn’t know how to work which immediately made you frustrated.
since parties weren’t your thing you never knew how to work a keg or even mix a drink properly—everything you made was either too strong or not strong enough. you grumbled to yourself with a soft facepalm.
“need some help?” a girl called out from the side, you glanced in the direction where the voice called from—spotting natalie scatorccio with her hand perched in her leather jacket that was accompanied by a red checkered skirt and some black doc martins.
you sheeplishly nodded and nat gave you a lighthearted chuckle, and walked over to lift the grey keg and shifted the nozzle down to release some of the beer. she had filled a cup up for you and reached it out towards you as a kind gesture.
“thanks.” you said and took a long sip from the cup the girl handed you, she had rocked nervously back and forth on her boots as another girl emerged from the crowd.
it was shauna shipman; jackie’s ex bestfriend. once you transferred to Rutgers University you met Jackie and you guys immediately became close even though you were total opposites—leaving shauna off to the side which ultimately ended their friendship.
“oh, you.” shauna said coldly and eyed you up and down like she was sizing you up, her dark brown eyes stared cut through you like a knife. her expression was stoic and emotionless defintely making you uncomfortable.
“I was just leaving—“ you began to speak before shauna cut you off mid sentence and unwrapped her arm from nat’s shoulders.
“so were we. care for company?”
