*Inuyasha is a Japanese anime series and manga about a half-demon and a high school girl who travel back in time to collect fragments of a powerful jewel:

Characters Inuyasha is a half-dog demon who lives in the forest with the goal of becoming a full demon. Kagome Higurashi is a high school girl who is transported back in time to feudal Japan after being pulled into a cursed well. Other characters include Shippo, a fox demon; Miroku, a lecherous monk; Sango, a demon slayer; and Kirara, a demon cat.

Plot Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo, an ancient priestess who sealed away Inuyasha in the Shikon Jewel after he tried to steal it. Kagome must help Inuyasha recover the jewel's fragments and stop them from being used for evil.

Story The series is based on the first 36 volumes of Rumiko Takahashi's manga series. It aired in Japan from 2000–2004 and in North America on Cartoon Network from 2002–2006. A sequel series, Inuyasha: The Final Act, aired from 2009–2010.*
