Somewhere in the Caribbean, 1710s.

After reuniting with her boyfriend, Jack Sparrow, Esmeralda Maria Consuela Anna De Sevilla, who had to pretend that she was taking the Fair Wind (East India Trading Company ship) cargo (which she did so she wouldn't seem suspicious), had secretly invited Jack onto her now-deceased Grandfather's (Don Rafael) ship; the Venganza. A feared ship to pirates who know it.

The only person who knew was the Venganzas and Fair Winds loyal first and second mates, Robbie Greene (Fair Wind) and Luis Montoya (Venganza). They had only kept this a secret because if Venganzas crew noticed Jack, they may tell a certain someone. That wasn't a risk neither Jack or Lady Pirata wanted to take. Though, Esmeralda didn't believe that the man would hang his own son.

The original Captain of Fair Wind, Captain Nathaniel Brainbridge, had unfortunately had an apopolexy, which made Jack in charge of running the ship as the First Mate.

Even though Jack was no longer allowed in Shipwreck Cove after breaking the Pirate Code and letting rogue pirates go free, he was still terrified of what his father, Captain Edward Teague, would do as Keeper of the Code and Pirate Lord of Madagascar. Teague did say he'd kill him by hanging him from Teagues ship, the Troubadour, and its yardarm. Whether he was bluffing or not was hard to tell, as Teagues temper wasn't a funny thing.

Now, it was night-time. Jack had rowed himself over to the Venganza for dinner, as Lady Esmeralda had invited him over to do. He got out of the longboat and climbed up the ships ladder. Montoya, who was aware of the situation, noticed the former pirates arrival and informed the Spanish lady pirate Captain.
