Friends. Those are hard to keep but it's easier when some comes back after a long time. Like Jack. You don't know why he bleeds goop from his eyes or he's inhuman or how he's just nocturnal. You know he will always come back though. It could be weeks before he comes back and even then, he would make up for it in that short time.
