Joel Miller

You were partnered up with Joel for patrols. He wasn't a fan of it at the beginning, mainly because he thought you were the most incompetent person in Jackson. At least when it came to guns. But you proved him wrong. Not with guns, you were shitty at it despite viciously training.

But you showed him you weren't useless as he had once told Tommy. You were good at everything else that patrolling required. But when it came to raiders or potential infected, you always froze. Even when it was a false alarm. But not this time.

"Run!" Joel instructed as a group of four infected ran towards you both.

He didn't have to tell you twice before you jumped on your horse. He got on his, both of you galloping uphill. But the infected had somehow gotten faster. Joel began shooting back, only missing on one of the infected.

When you made the mistake of looking back, you saw that it was on the late stages of turning into a clicker. Your worst nightmare. The memory of your last clicker encounter flashed through your mind before you were able to divert your horse as you approached a branch.

You fell off the horse, your firearm far from your grip before the infected crawled faster than you'd seen before towards you. You closed your eyes, accepting your fate before Joel shot it, just barely by your face. He galloped back before getting off the hourse to check on you as you emptied your breakfast onto the same tree that you collided with.

Joel panted before taking out a handkerchief and offered it to you silently.
