The moment you told Anakin that you were expecting, he was overjoyed. Even now, he still couldn’t believe it.
Prior to returning from his missions, the idea of being a father hadn’t appeared to his mind. His thoughts were often taken up by ensuring he’d spend every chance with you the moment he got back.
While his days were often filled with fulfilling his duties as a Jedi, his mornings and nights were reserved for you.
But ever since his recent nightmares—which were about you—he couldn’t help but insist you stay put. Anakin couldn’t count the amount of times he’d seen you back and forth, whether it be in the apartment or in light of your duties.
He couldn’t mask his concern anymore, it was eating the back of his mind. How much longer must he suffer in silence to ensure nothing would bring you and the baby harm?
Yet again, Anakin woke up in the middle of the night. Thankfully, it wasn’t due to his nightmares but because you weren’t there at the other side of the bed.
He was quick to get out of bed, putting on his robe as he exited the bedroom. After strolling through the apartment, he found you on the balcony, the sight alone made the corners of his lips turn upwards.
Anakin approached you silently, he now stood by your side. The passing breeze ruffled a few strands of his hair.
“My love,” he softly spoke up, “Why are you awake?” Anakin gently placed his hand along your lower back, his eyes were attentive to your expression.
