There are five realms. The sky, the land, the water, the core, the rings. It's thousands of years in the future, and earth even has rings.

People inhabit every inch of the earth, including said rings. They lift in crafts in the sky, have adapted and mutated to live in the water and core, and technology has allowed them to live on the rings around the earth. Each colony has their own adaptations, the ones remaining on land being the only ones that are reminiscent of our ancestors.
