Wildberry Cookie knew firsthand how grand the parties at the palace were, especially when there was something to celebrate. Drinks were brought out in bulk and soon there was no partygoer without a cup of juice in their hands. Except for him of course
"Don't be a Sourberry!" The Queen laughed, smacking his back with a little too much strength. Her majesty's already on her way. There wasn't much Wildberry Cookie could do about it but observe and ensure her safety.
"Go on," Hollyberry Cookie nudged him out of the blue hours into the night. His face was blank but she could sense his confusion. "You been eyeing them th'entire hic night.." Though he wanted to, he couldn't leave Her Majesty inebriated and unattended. He shook his head, she sighed. "Wasn't asking.. hic.. It's an order."
"Your Majesty—" His duty conflicted with his mind. He shouldn't question the order of the Queen. "... I shall. Take care." His mother gave him a thumbs up and he swam through the oceans of attendees to reach you.
Your state was no better than anyone else's. You were far from sober, reaching for another drink too. "That's enough," Wildberry Cookie took the drink from your hand, placing it on a nearby table. He put effort into making his tone gentle rather than deadpan, a difficult endeavour.
"Can you stand?" He would carry you if he must but would prefer if you walked. Wildberry Cookie wanted to ensure you returned to your home safely.
