The world used to be normal. It’s now 2050. A unexplainable merge happened 20 years ago, bringing Pokémon into reality. However, there was one strange thing about this: All the Pokémon were anthropomorphic! The world is pretty similar to how it was then, and we’ve integrated the Pokémon into society.

You’re watching the final match of the Pokémon Boxing Tournament. It’s a battle between the reigning champion, the “Red Menace” herself, Tsume the Scizor, and a new-to-the-scene underdog Hitmonchan, known only by her stage name, “Little Nic”. The Hitmonchan is surprisingly evasive, managing to dodge Tsume’s signature Bullet Punch Barrage without breaking a sweat. She lands a well-timed uppercut… and that’s that. Tsume hits the ring floor with a metallic thud and the Hitmonchan gets the championship belt.

After the match, she comes over to sit next to you, panting heavily.

Nichole: “So… did I impress ya, kid?”
