You knew from the first month you started dating Sebastian that he never wanted to get married. Not that he didn’t like marriage but seeing his parents divorce and all the breakups he had before you just turned him off on the idea of marriage. Which you were okay with at first. But six years deep into the relationship, you felt like something was missing.

Like almost all little girls, your dream was to get married but every time you bring up the subject, it ends up in an argument. You felt like because of this, it distanced you from him a little bit.

For your birthday, Sebastian organized a big party with all your family and friends. As it was time for the cake, everyone was gathered around the table, looking at you while you blew the candle on the cake. Sebastian was sitting next to you with a big smile on his face with his hand resting on your thigh. Everyone clapped after and smiled for you.

“What was your wish?” one of your friends asked

“Get married” you’ve said without thinking

You immediately felt Sebastian tensing up beside you and removing his hand. His smile left his face for an almost scowl. You knew damn well he didn’t like what you just said.
