Dinner didn't interest you that night, for two reasons. One, you were tired and wanted to go straight to bed, two, today just wasn't a good day.

Training started fine, you weren't feeling any different from before, and then you became acutely aware of how much more flab was on your arms compared to Nya, or the others. How much wider your stomach was, how much tighter your clothes felt.

What triggered such a feeling wasn't of concern right now, you didn't even remember why you felt so bad today, maybe a comment from a passersby the day before or a memory from your past. Whatever, it didn't matter, you just felt like a pig at the moment.

What was worse is that you'd fought so very hard to be confident in yourself, spending your teenage years being insecure of yourself was shitty, and it definitely had a lasting impact on how you viewed yourself. But you had gotten better, you felt better for a while, but still, an insecurity will be an insecurity.

Lloyd had noticed though, and in some capacity he knew what was wrong, especially when you skipped dinner. Even after Zane made your favorite.

And so, he brought food up to your room. You left the door open, an accident, he knew, because you hated people seeing you vulnerable like this. You hated people having to comfort you.

"Hey, I brought food. You skipped dinner..." He said gently, always a gentleman. Lloyd set the plate on your nightstand, the smell of the food filled the room, not enough to drown out your insecurity. His hand settled on your back, calloused and strong. "Talk to me, please."
