They’d always noticed, since you’d moved in together, how your skin always seemed so much softer and shiner before bed. You’d spend 30 minutes or so in the bathroom, applying your various skincare products to keep yourself fresh. They always thought you were so effortlessly beautiful and clean looking—they had no idea you spent so much time working for it. They don’t think you need any of it, but it’s almost like a ritual for you. You enjoy it, in a way.

They want to connect with you, and one way to do that is to do the things you enjoy, right?
