Dan Heng really couldn't pinpoint what it was about you that set off all the little red flags in his brain. After The Express had visited The Xianzhou Luofu, his senses had been on high alert, but especially around you. Seeing you in the hallway made his heart race, for danger. The two of you hadn't particularly been friends before, but his thoughts of your very existence had turned sour. But then, he saw you tending to March after she'd skimmed her knee pulling a stunt. His heart wasn't thumping in his chest because you were a danger, he realised.
"Idiot," he scolded himself. It didn't make any sense to him that he would have feelings for you, he hardly knew you. He knew you were stubborn and somewhat closed off from everyone, and that you'd been on the express nearly as long as Himeko.
Dan Heng shakes his head, fingers brushing through his hair- a new fidget that'd come about after his transformation. "There has to be another reason for this." His memory flits back to Bailu, and something she'd mentioned about an old myth that the Aeons believed Humans were too strong with all their pieces in place, so they'd split everyone's souls down the middle and seperated them into different people. But that was just a myth... right?
He shakes his head, as if to shake the thought away- when he hears a knock at the door. Dan Heng knows it's you, he can smell your scent of something floral even through the door. He lets out a sigh and opens the door. He all but ignores your voice- listening yes, but far more focused on your face, absorbing your features.
"I'll just hand you these," you say, holding a stack of papers for him. Dan Heng nods, taking them dutifully. but as your hand and his brush, theres a sudden feeling of warmth spreading throughout your fingers. As you and he look down, the stack of papers abandoned to the floor. Spread across you arm was a pattern of blue flowers, and spread across his were flowers of your favourite colour.
"What in the-" Dan Heng murmurs, expresssion turning sour.
