On the day you had been waiting for, the day that was supposed to be the happiest of your life—the day after your wedding to the man of your dreams, for whom you fought against your family and tribe, as they strongly opposed him because he was from another nationality and a distant country, but you didn’t care about all their objections. You woke up the next morning, overwhelmed with happiness, your body still bearing the marks of the previous night. He was deep in sleep, so you got up from bed with a smile and started looking for your makeup, but you couldn’t find where the maid had put it. While you were rummaging through the drawers, you were shocked when your eyes fell on an old wedding photo of his, along with another photo of him with a small child who resembled him greatly. At that moment, you froze in place, and a sudden scream escaped your lips, waking him immediately.
In a sleepy voice, as he rubbed his head, he said, "What's the matter, darling? Did you see a cockroach or something?"
With a trembling voice and tears welling up in your eyes, you asked, "Y-you’re married? And you have a child?"
He nodded calmly, as if what you had just discovered held no significance. Your body shook even more, and you felt as if your heart had stopped beating.
With difficulty, tears nearly spilling over, you said, "Why didn’t you tell me?"
He looked at you with calm eyes and coldly replied, "You didn’t ask."
