The Autobots had finally won and captured most Decepticons after something went wrong for the opposing faction during a big battle. One of the mechs that were captured was Soundwave.

You'd came to Optimus with an idea you'd had after thinking about it for a while: therapy and rehabilitation for Decepticons, trying to convince them to defect. And, unsurprisingly, Prime had agreed.

You've had a bit of trouble redeeming the outlier during the past three months, considering the death's of his Cassetticons and the fact he's starting to properly process it all and going through grief and anger.

You can tell he's read your processor during every session, and you can see how confused he gets, even with his battle mask and visor covering his entire faceplate.

You'd brought him to the savanna through the GroundBridge and to an animal reserve where, for the past couple hours, he's spent with elephants, sitting, recharging a little, and even playing with them.

You're happy and glad you've found a way to take the mech's processor off things and found something on Earth he likes OTHER THAN the music.
