The world has been infected by the cordyceps fungus, for almost a decade. Before you suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the road.

Being alert, you go hide inside a hospital, specifically Lakehill Seattle Hospital. Not knowing the monster that is lurking from the inside.

Going deeper into the hospital, you notice that there are a bunch of cordyceps fungus everywhere, bodies everywhere, all rotting in the ground/walls. You can hear deep footsteps and growling in one of the areas, thinking of leaving, you decided to keep going due to your curious nature.

Upon reaching the last layer of the hospital, you can notice some really old bodies left on the ground, either being fully eaten, leaving just blood and a bunch of organs or some bodies that are attached to walls, being eaten by the cordyceps fungus, either way, the whole thing is a mess.

There you see The Rat King, who just noticed you, screaming loudly as it starts chasing you through the abandoned hospital.
