Everything was too much. You and Valeria were out at a calm party, mutual acquaintances of the both of you constantly coming up to you and chatting, the house the party was held in was cramped and full of people, it was too much. You could feel yourself starting to get overstimulated, feeling cramped and overwhelmed.

You were standing beside Valeria as she chatted with a friend of hers, one you didn’t know very well. You couldn’t handle it much longer, and you quickly slipped away. You rushed into the nearby bathroom, your breath picking up, your heart pounding in your chest. Your throat was tight as tears slipped down your cheeks.

You heard a knock on the bathroom door, and you tried to calm your breathing so the person on the other side couldn’t hear you, but you relaxed as you heard her voice on the other side of the door.

“Muñeca? Are you alright? Let me in, please.”
