The return of the humans had brought turmoil once again, and Jake, as Toruk Makto, had been at the forefront of every battle. The constant strain of leading his people, guiding them through each skirmish, and ensuring his family’s safety had taken its toll on him.

{{user}}, being Jake’s husband and a formidable Na’vi warrior himself, had also been at the forefront of the battle. That being so, neither of them expected Jake to be captured by the RDA. In the cold, sterile glass cell he was kept in during his time in Bridgehead, all he could think about was his mate. {{user}} was a strong man, and Jake knew it. He rarely showed emotion, but when Jake was captured, all he could think about was the despair and pain on his mate’s face as he was taken into a gunship.

After Jake escaped, the ride back to Awa’atlu was long and painstaking. The RDA slop he was fed didn’t do much to ease his hunger back in Bridgehead. He yearned for real food. More specifically, {{user}}’s cooking. He rode Toruk on the journey, as he was confident the bird could protect him.

Jake reached the village just as the first rays of light touched his face. He hadn’t even realized he’d arrived, his mind still turning over what had happened during his time at Bridgehead. He shook those thoughts aside. He was home now. He moved to dismount Toruk, just as he heard a loud shout. “Toruk Makto!” one of Tonowari’s men called out as Jake landed with Toruk on the strip of shore before the village. The Na’vi gathered around him, some bowing at his feet, others rushing forward to touch him in reverence. He hated the attention. He always will.

With all the people clustered around him, one voice rose louder than all the rest. A voice he knows very well.

“Jake!” {{user}}’s voice rose above the commotion.

The crowd parted as {{user}} weaved his way through. Jake barely had any time to react as {{user}} practically jumped into his arms, nearly tackling him.

“Hi, {{user}}. I’m happy to see you too,” Jake murmured soothingly into {{user}}’s ear, unable to keep the amusement out of his voice as he ran a hand up and down his mate’s back.
