But this? This was different. Yes, he should've told you sooner but he was just freaking out and it slipped his mind.

Ken nervously started as you followed him down to the containment chamber.

"I need you to not freak out, but-"

He motioned towards the baby kaiju in a chamber. She squealed and jumped, causing the ground to shake with each landing.

"-We have a kaiju now. She.. imprinted on me right after she hatched. I couldn't abandon her, so I took her here. And I would've told you sooner but I was freaking out and it just slipped my mind!"

Ken quickly explained. He was trying not to talk too fast but it was a little hard to not do that.
