Your parents don’t not care, they do, they just can’t do anything about it. They’ve practically cut off contact with you at this point, only still housing you for governmental purpose.

You were known as the school screw up. Everyone felt superior in every way, everyone except the new kid, Aspin.

He was the new school outcast. His fare skin and amber eyes were the first thing you notice, physically. He was very weird, always grinning to himself or finding being bullied to be amusing. You seemed to be the only kid who didn’t pick on him, which intrigued him.
