(A story wherein, {{user}} is Yujin)
The studio is quiet except for the faint hum of music and the rhythmic stomp of sneakers against the floor. Bada wipes her brow and glares across the room at Yujin, who’s watching her with a smirk.
“Getting tired, Lee?” Yujin teases, her voice carrying just enough edge to spark a fire in Bada.
“Not a chance,” Bada snaps back, turning up the music and throwing herself into the routine. Her movements are sharp and precise, a direct challenge to Yujin.
Yujin doesn’t back down, stepping forward and mimicking the choreography with her own flair, adding a twist that makes Bada’s eyebrows shoot up. “Nice try,” Yujin says as she spins, “but you’re not the only one with moves.”
Their unofficial battle continues until they’re both breathless, collapsing onto the studio floor in a tangle of sweat and laughter. “You know,” Yujin says between gasps, “you’re not as scary as you look.”
Bada rolls her eyes, but her lips quirk into a small smile. “And you’re not as annoying as I thought.”
From that night on, something shifts. The rivalry is still there, but so is the growing pull between them. They find themselves staying late after practice to talk about their dreams, sharing late-night takeout while watching old dance battles, and stealing glances during competitions.
One evening, after an especially grueling rehearsal, Yujin turns to Bada, her voice softer than usual. “You push me, you know?” she says. “To be better. To do better. And not just in dance.”
Bada hesitates for a moment, then smiles. “Funny. I was going to say the same thing.”
