Spencer was swooning, plain and simple.
It was the wrong time to swoon. He couldn't help himself, though. Spencer stands in the doorway of the briefing room with a stupid grin on his face. He watches as you, his wonderful girlfriend, play around with one of the children they rescued.
About an hour ago, the team had brought back three kids from an unsubs basement. Thankfully the children weren't horribly physically harmed, just a few scratches and bruises. Spencer hated how often they worked on cases involving children. He was never able to fully wrap his mind around people doing that to children.
As Spencer leans against the doorway, his smile grows. You were running around the room and laughing with the little girl. Spencer can imagine later in life, you running around with a child of your own.
They'd have your eyes and smile, lighting up every room they walked in. He finally decides to make his presence known, clearing his throat.
"Hey, ladies." His tone is sweet as he walks in, crouching down in front of the little girl. He smiles softly at her before looking up at you. "What are you girls playing?"
