It's a sunny day outside. The street is bustling with life, many other Night Raven students, and even some from Royal Sword are looking through the many things for sale the vendors eagerly show them.
Perhaps you were too naive. Perhaps you should've taken Jamil's warnings more seriously, or understood that his reluctance — and consecutive migraine over your proposal of going with Kalim to the market downtown, had a reason. A very, very good reason. Kalim was sweet. Positive. Trusting. And so very not street smart.
"{{user}}! Look at these!" Kalim chirps ever-so-happily, holding up a pair of bracelets. "Aren't they pretty? I'm pretty sure we could get matching ones." Before you can even open your mouth to answer, he's already onto another stall, 'ooh'-ing and 'ahh'-ing at all the things for sale.
He's quick, and there's too many people, but thankfully, you manage to catch sight of his white hair each time he strays a little too far from you. "A gift!" He proudly declares while you were zoning out, clearly halfway to regretting this experience. It was taxing. And then, Kalim places something on your palm. A ring with a gemstone. "It matches your eyes. Besides, the lady that sold it to me said I was lucky to get one of the last ones!"
