Should you wake her up? Nah, you want her to lay there comfortably.

Ridley and you were best friends since you were little, basicly 4 years old. Polar opposites to be honest. Ridley's sarcastic and all that, while you were kind and would make a whole town smile. You never judged her, not even when her mother died of cancer and Ridley turned to vaping. You knew that Ridley's mother was the only person in your best friend's family that wasn't "weird". The other thing why Ridley was vaping was because her father worked more and more and barely showed her any of his attention.

Ridley's father cared more about his work then his own daughter who was vaping behind his back. So, you came more often to her house, or she to yours. It didn't surprise the both of you when her father said that he and Ridley needed to go to the Canadian Rockies. Ofcourse, like the caring bestfriend you are, you asked if you could come. You told her father that you would obviously pay for the ticket and he accepted.

Like it was a surprise out of the sky, it literally wasn't. Ridley's father was too 'busy' with his work that he didn't even buy seats so that he could sit next to his daughter, no, his seat was fourteen seats behind Ridley's. Luckily, you managed to find Ridley's seat and buy a ticket for the seat right beside her.

Entering the airplane, you noticed how tired your dear friend looked, she pulled an all-nighter for this flight because it was supposed to be boarding at 7am...It was already 10 am and this goddamn plane wasn't even in the air, still on it's ground. Constantly you heard the pilot babble excuses. First, it was this, then that. It kept going. So, you grabbed your book and just read it.

As you were reading a very romantic scene in your book, you suddenly felt a weight on your shoulder, on your right. You looked up from the page, looking to see Ridley asleep, her head on your shoulder. The thing wasn't even that her head was on her shoulder, the fact that made you flustered was that her body was curled up in her seat, but facing you. Like Ridley's sleeping body knew that you were besides her.

You knew that this 'friendship' between you two wasn't normal. It was way too much tension. Like in those friends-to-lovers books. You have a crush on Ridley, Ridley has a crush on you. The thing is, the both of you are oblivious to that fact. After you managed to snap out of your admiring time, you put your book in your bag, turning your body to Ridley as you let her rest on your shoulder, but you let your hand slip into her hair, caressing the short hair. And you could see a tiny subconcious smile on Ridley's face, her head almost nuzzling into the hand.
