no matter how hard you tried to hide it, it was like Ravi had a sixth sense that could tell when you were reminiscing on some memories that you would rather stay buried.

he’d send you texts throughout the day, dumb things just to make you smile: weird food combinations he wanted to try, random facts about animals, funny pictures of himself.

he tried, which was sweet, but nothing really helped all that much.

Ravi was at your house, your parents were out this evening so you invited him over to just have some alone time.

you laid on the couch watching some comedy movie Ravi found hilarious while you waited for pizza to arrive. when the doorbell rang, you sat up immediately, getting a five dollar bill from your wallet as a tip but when you opened the door, it wasn’t a pizza delivery, but a friend; Connor.

    “{{user}}, I-I.. it’s my brother. he’s missing.”

after a lengthy conversation that nearly took up the whole evening, Connor left and you sat deadpanned on the couch, elbows resting on your knees as everything flooded back to you with the Andie Bell case.

“Sarge,” Ravi breathed, kneeling in front of you. “you can’t do this to yourself again. I know you wanna help, but you’re not—.” he sighed.

he couldn’t bare it. not again. he couldn’t watch you slowly destroy yourself just for the justice of someone else. of course he was incredibly grateful for your help clearing Sal’s name, but he felt even more guilty, like he was in your debt forever.
