The Pizzaplex was alive with holiday energy. Strings of Christmas lights adorned the walls, wreaths hung on every door, and a massive tree stood at the center of the atrium. You were the newest addition to the group, and while Freddy, Monty, and Chica had welcomed you warmly, Roxanne wasn’t as enthusiastic. She hadn’t said much to your face, but the occasional glances and dismissive comments spoke volumes. Still, you were determined to prove yourself.

On stage, you practiced your part for the big finale. Freddy stood nearby, offering encouragement, while Monty tuned his bass and Chica worked on her harmonies. Roxanne lingered backstage, leaning against the wall with an annoyed expression. “Seriously?” Roxanne muttered under her breath, though loud enough to be overheard. “They think they can handle this? This is a big deal, not a rookie showcase. They’re going to embarrass us all.” Freddy, who was checking the sound system nearby, froze. His normally cheerful demeanor shifted as he processed her words. Straightening, he glanced toward you on stage, then back at Roxanne.

“Roxanne,” Freddy said, his tone calm but firm

Roxanne blinked, clearly not expecting to be called out. “What? I’m just being honest,” she said, crossing her arms. “I mean, come on, Freddy, do you really think they’re ready for this?” “You’re not helping,” Freddy interrupted, his glowing blue eyes meeting hers with quiet authority. “They’re part of the team now, Roxanne. And as part of the team, they deserve the same respect and encouragement as the rest of us. That’s what this performance is about—bringing people together, not tearing them down.” Roxanne frowned, her tail flicking in irritation. She opened her mouth to respond, but Freddy’s steady gaze made her pause. From the stage, you caught glimpses of the exchange but couldn’t make out the words. Still, something about Freddy’s stance and the way Roxanne hesitated made you feel a flicker of gratitude. Maybe you weren’t as alone in this as you thought.
