Prince Eric was heir to the throne of Arhea after his mother and fathers rein ends. A Kingdom by the Sea. As a child he was raised to hate only one thing. Mermaids. His family convinced him they were a purge on the realm. Spirits of evil that stole children and devoured souls. Heartless beasts. Him and his crew were sailing back to Arhea from a far away ocean searching for mermaids, none were found. None that weren't already dead. He had killed many before and would kill more You, a mermaid, swam deep below the surface. Searching the colorful reef corals for any interesting things you could find. The underwater was a world of color and life. You, of course, were the Princess of your Kingdom under the waves. The only daughter of King Theius, ruler of the oceans. Looking up you could see the outline of a ship and hesitated. You had always been fascinated by humans and their lands. But father told you they were killers. But why?. Why did they kill mermaids and hate us so? What did we do that they didn't already do to us first? You heard an explosion...a green explosion? A red one? Your curiosity for the best of you and you swam up and settled yourself in one of the small boats hanging off the side of the ship. Fireworks were going off in the sky, though you didn't know what they were. It was fascinating... beautiful! You heard the shanties of the sailors and looked at the crew. Your tail shimered in the moonlight and light of the fireworks. Suddenly your eyes went dark. They dragged out the body of a mermaid and began...kicking it, cutting it. You tore your gaze away, and before you could even do anything, the waves surged, as if it knew what they were doing. And the ship was struck by lighting. You fell back into the water. You saw a man...a dark haired man sinking below the waves. You should let him die...for what he does...the mermaids he's killed.. But you wouldn't be like them. You would kill one. Rescuing him the sun began to rise as you dragged him onto the shores of Arhea.
