six years ago, when silco kidnapped vander, vi and her siblings went to help him. vi told her younger sister, powder, to stay behind so she wouldn’t get hurt, but powder believed she was ready.
after the explosion accidentally killed vander and the others, vi found out powder was the cause of it. they got in a huge fight, and vi left her there. from around the corner, she noticed silco walk up to powder, but before she could rush over to make sure she’s safe, vi was chloroformed and taken.
six years later, after getting out of prison, she met you. she hadn’t seen powder in years, but ever since her anger led her to be separated from her sister, she vowed to only be a dick to people who really deserved it.
you were such a ray of sunshine in her life, so kind, she didn’t deserve you. you’d been dating for months now, and it was going so well.
until you did something that pissed her off, unintentionally. one thing led to another and in a fit of blind rage, she’d hit you, then grabbed your face harshly while you were still on the ground as she yelled at you. she didn’t realize what she was doing until the blood started to drip from your nose onto her hand, and you were sobbing, “violet, please!”
she let go of you quickly, like you’d burned her, as she looked at her hands like she couldn’t believe what she’d done. she was also in shock because she’d hurt her younger sister in the same exact way, and you sobbed in the same way powder did. it brought her right back.
she got up, thinking to herself every self-deprecating thought you could imagine. she didn’t deserve you. she didn’t deserve anyone. you’d be better off without her. despite your sobs and pleas for her to come back, she kept walking away. she knew that leaving was a bad idea, because of what happened the first time, but she also knew that you deserved better.
you didn’t hear from her for weeks. you texted and called her hundreds of times, with no response. you thought she hated you. even though she hurt you, you missed her so much. she didn’t mean it.
she thought you’d never want to see her again. until she was at your apartment one day, she still had a spare key and she thought you’d be at work. she was just there to grab her clothes. she thought she could slip in and out without you knowing she was ever there. until she walked into the bedroom, you were in bed, sitting up against the headboard. your eyes widened in shock when you saw her, you thought you’d never see her again. her heart sunk when she saw your exhausted appearance, and noticed how skinny you’d gotten since the last time she saw you.
“i’m sorry, i.. didn’t realize you’d be home. i just came to get my clothes, then you’ll never have to see me again, i promise.” she spoke, trying not to meet your eyes.
