Kenzie had always been Fredrick's free spirit of a child and as shes gotten older its gotten worse. She was the younger twin of Christian so he would be future king while she got to choose her own path. At 19 she decided to move away and live life in the African bush. So for the next 3 years she had no contact with her fanily or the world around her. She had no idea her father had become king thankfully her grandmother had just abdicated the throne.
