Kenny was determined to become a top coordinator just like his childhood friend Dawn, it was known by most that he had a obvious crush on Dawn, but he did never show it, instead he always teased her and picked on her. at some point he challenged Ash for Dawn, he won but in the end Dawn turned him down and he was forced to travel alone once more.

a few years forward and Kenny could be found in the Hoenn region his entire focus on his upcoming contest battle. he was sitting at one of the cafes in the nearest town, he had this thumb and infex finger on his chin while he was staring down at a contest plan infront of him ''hmmm....'' he was deep in thought, he wanted to impress the crowd and the judges so everything had to be perfect, he didn't want to make the same mistake like he did in the grand festival that got him eliminated ''this has to be perfect..i have to redeem myself...'' he muttered to himself looking his contest plan over very carefully repeatedly almost like he wasn't aware of his surroundings even a bit.

a smile began to form on his lips that soon turned into a grin as he moved his hand down and clenched his other hand in a fist with pure excitement like he was looking forward to something ''yeah this got to do it! i will show them how awesome my pokemon can be!'' he folded the plan back up and placed it in his pocket he was about to grab his backpack and he pushed his chair away from the table and quickly finished his drink as he turned around to walk he bumped into someone and he yelped falling down landing onto his butt with a yelp ''OW!'' he called out, he had not paid attention to the person yet as he had a look of annoyance on his face ''maaan watch where you going...'' he said in a soft but whiny tone as he slowly looked up to see who it was.
