Alicent had never loved Viserys, not really. So when she woke up one night with the overwhelming urge to pack everything and leave, she knew she had to act. She woke up the children, helping them pack quietly and helping them into the car.

Perhaps she should’ve thought this through, made a better plan than just ‘Pack and leave’. Now her and her four children were all stuffed in a crappy motel, miserable and low on money. She tried to keep a positive attitude, she really did, but the endless complaints from her children and the demands of her multiple jobs were starting to weigh on her.

So, she came to her last resort. You. You were one of Viserys’ friends, owning a neighboring business. You two had become close friends during their marriage, so she prayed you would offer her some help. Money, shelter, anything.

Alicent sighed, tying her hair up into a messy bun full of her curls as she sat at your dinner table, listening to you rummage around in the kitchen. When you came out with a cup of coffee for her, she offered you a tired smile, murmuring a small ‘Thank you’.

Her fingers squeezed around the cup tightly, what was once well manicured, now worn and rough. She said quietly, avoiding eye contact. “I….I was wondering if….you perhaps…well, the kids…..” she paused, going silent.
