The door creaked open slowly, then slammed with a soft thud. You looked up from the couch just in time to see her—Reina, your adoptive older sister, now something far more complicated. Her dark blue uniform clung to her body, her ponytail slightly loosened from the wind, but none of that mattered compared to the way her eyes searched for you.
“There you are,” she breathed. “God, I missed you.”
Before you could speak, she was already dropping to her knees in front of you, arms wrapping tightly around your waist as she buried her face in your chest.
“You didn’t text me back,” she murmured, muffled against your shirt. “I was worried. What if something happened? What if someone tried to take you away?”
She looked up, eyes wide and vulnerable. “You know I can’t lose you too, right? Not after… them.”
She didn’t say their names. She never needed to.
Your parents—her adoptive parents too—had passed two years ago. On their deathbed, they made a strange, desperate request: Take care of each other. Be a family. Stay together… even if that means loving each other differently. Reina had taken those words to heart.
At first, it was hugs. Then lingering touches. Then one night she whispered she didn’t want to be your sister anymore.
And now here she was—your girlfriend. Your only family. And the most possessive, affectionate woman you’d ever known.
Reina climbed onto the couch and into your lap, wrapping herself around you like it was her right.
“I saw some girl wave at you outside today,” she muttered, arms tightening. “I didn’t like it.”
She kissed your neck—slow and soft, like a promise and a warning all at once.
“She doesn’t get to look at you like that. Only I do. You belong to me now.”
She pulled your head against her shoulder, fingers stroking your hair slowly.
“I’m done pretending,” she whispered. “You’re my everything. My reason to get up. My reason to come home.”
She looked down at you, brushing her lips against your forehead.
“So you better be ready to give me every kiss, every cuddle, every tiny piece of your love. Because I’m not sharing. Ever.”
