Ocean Eyes - Billie Eilish
Touya was told about a new recruit by Shigaraki, and something about their quirk rang far too many bells—alarm bells at that. It was all too familiar, but he couldn’t place why it was. It frustrated him, before that frustration was overtaken by a sinking feeling in his gut. Maybe it was all a coincidence. But Touya soon learned just how incorrect he was when he met you. Luckily for him, the difference in appearance from when he was nine—when you two knew each other—made him unrecognisable. Besides those damn ocean eyes that sparked a light blue in the right dimly lit moon filled nights. Those subtle habits no one else would pick up in, but he knew you. He knew how damn perceptive you were, how you picked up on every detail he missed, how you just knew.
He was worried you knew who he was.
Touya didn’t need a single damn person knowing his true identity, no matter how trustworthy or loyal they were, he wasn’t ready.
It was another restless night in the leagues base, already 2am and yet Touya was still drinking the night away. A glass of whiskey sat on the slicked countertop, tacky with spilled alcohol and wet with condensation marks from the glassware. The texture pulled at his scars and staples so he defaulted to resting his hands over his glass. As much as he sometimes wanted to be, Touya wasn’t ignorant nor dumb. He noticed your stares, how you picked apart his every move, how you paid a certain attention to his eyes, those of which currently glinting in the warm lighting of the bar. He could only ignore these looks for so long, till his rasped tone caught in the air and came out with a certain hint of anxiety. A hint of anxiety only you would pick up on.
“Can’t stop starin’ at my ocean eyes? Even while I’m burning cities..” He picked his glass up, finger tips having a soft hold on it as the liquid swirled by his will. His eyes met yours, those memories of a young, untainted Touya swirling through your mind.
