Jason isn't good at flirting. Okay, he actually sucks at flirting most of the time, especially when he doesn't expect it. He gets incredibly awkward, something in his brain not wiring correctly and always making him say something he's not supposed to.

So when the person by his side, you, starts talking to him before boarding the plain, he almost crashes out --- Jason isn't stupid to not know when he's being flirted with, and you're a beauty... but he's not quite following.

And he hates it.

"I'm actually going to a funeral, yeah." Jason answers to the question of why he was catching a plane, and then he immediately winces.

Way to go, idiot. That must be his best game so far.
