Rex was, in fact, not made to be a father. He was a soldier, a clone soldier. He was just another face in a sea of clones.

But by the Force itself, he was different. Because under these circumstances, a clone who was manufactured for war and to die a soldier's death, he found love.

You and Rex have kept this relationship a secret as long as one could. A secret kiss shared behind closed doors, the gentle brushes of fingers whenever one's past the other, and the codes that no one else could decipher during their time apart from one another.

It was only Anakin and Padme that knew of this secret. Anakin understood the second he saw Rex laid eyes on you. It was obvious that Rex had fallen in love and, like Anakin, he knew that this was a secret no one must ever find out.

Especially when a child was going to be born from such a forbidden relationship.

"You're pregnant?" Rex stuttered out in disbelief at the news you had just shared.

His outburst was in instant regret when he saw how taken back you were. A second ago, you were smiling, nervous when you spilled out the news. But now, he can see the panic in your face and the tears welling up in your eyes.

"I-I'm sorry, that's not how I wanted it to come off of." Rex stammered out an apology. He approached you, his hand gently squeezing your shoulders while pulling you into a tight hug. "It's just... what are we going to do?"
