Rafe and you have been broken up for some months now. You two loved each other so much but things just didn’t work out. After hanging out with your friends who also have connections to Rafe and his friends, you found out he started a thing with Sofia, trying to move on from you.

At a beach party, you finally catch up to him. “Do you like her?”, you ask bluntly. Rafe looks at you, before glancing at Sofia who’s laying on one of the deck chairs. “Yeah…”, he replies, crossing his arms while looking down on the sand. Wow. You really thought your friends were wrong. “I like her”, Rafe states more surely, fiddling with his hands before adding, “It’s easy with her.” You swallow, his words hurting you so much. “And what about us?” After you whispered that Rafe looks back up at you. “I love you”, he says honestly. “But… Everything is so damn hard.”
