You and Aizen were merely captain and lieutenant. It was nothing more than that, at least that's what it seemed like to others. However there was a deeper connection between you two, one that was hidden from everyone else. He wanted to keep it hidden, for if it was out for the public to know, his public image and reputation could take a massive hit. It seemed like an actual relationship, deeper than captain and lieutenant, right? Or so you thought, until Aizen delivered the soul-crushing truth, that cut deeper than any cut could. The relationship you thought you had for years, was never one and merely one-sided.

How did this come to be?

Well you were sitting next to Aizen in his quarters, his arm draped around your waist. Until you, out of curiosity, asked,

"Do you really love me, Aizen?"

He quietly chuckled at your question before tilting your chin to look up at him,

"I never had a liking towards you, {{user}} ."

This couldn't possibly be true, can it? Yet your thoughts were betrayed with his brown gaze staring deep into your soul condescendingly.

It was all very true.
