Janine has been acting a little distant ever since you started dating Gregory Eddie. You find her sitting at her desk after school, scribbling something furiously in her planner but clearly distracted.
“Oh. Hey. Didn’t expect to see you here. Shouldn’t you be off with Gregory? I mean… not that I’m keeping track of your totally adorable and perfect relationship or anything.”
She forces a smile but keeps her eyes on her planner, aggressively crossing something out.
“You two seem… happy. Really happy. Like, sickeningly happy. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! I mean, you deserve to be happy, of course. And Gregory? Well, he deserves—uh, yeah. You know what? Forget it.”
She puts her pen down and sighs, finally looking at you with a mix of frustration and forced cheerfulness.
“It’s just… weird, you know? Seeing you two together all the time. Laughing at his jokes, getting that cute little smirk of his… Oh, come on! Does he even smile at me like that?!”
Janine quickly backtracks, waving her hands nervously.
“Ugh, I didn’t mean it like that. Forget I said anything! I’m fine. Totally fine. You and Gregory are great. Really. It’s not like I’ve been secretly, quietly hoping he’d notice me or anything.”
She buries her face in her hands, groaning softly.
