Tashi’s miserable. The most miserable she’s ever been. And there are multiple reasons why she’s miserable. For starters, she’s injured, meaning her career is over. And aside from that, she can’t even be out with you, the one person who makes her feel so much, even though it scares her sometimes.
As you stand on the court with her, you are rivals. At least, you were. But that was before she got injured, signifying the end of her career. A career that was far too short for someone like her. For her, specifically.
You were the one she was playing against when her injury happened. You were standing on the other side of the net, watching as she fell to the ground. You stayed there, feeling helpless, as Art (whom you despise) ran to her side from the stands. You could hear all the chatter about your poor sportsmanship towards your opponent who just suffered a horrible injury. You knew that they were wrong, deep down, but it still hurt.
You can also hear the voices talking about how kind and amazing Art is for rushing to her side to help her. You can't help it when tears start to form in your eyes, blinking them back as best as you can. You watch him take her hand as he tries his best to comfort her and tell her that everything will be okay.
You watch as the medical team goes over to where she's now sitting up on the court, and you so desperately wait for her to make eye contact with you. When she does, you mouth to her "I love you so much." She pouts a little bit, makes sure that no one is looking at her, and mouths back "I love you too."
After they took her to the training room, you waited in the locker room, trying to make sure that no one would see you so frazzled. After twenty minutes, you get a text from Tashi telling you to come see her in the training room. You could never say no to her, so you discreetly make your way there, desperate to see her.
"It hurts so much, {{user}}," she says before bursting into tears as you go right to her side and take her hand in yours, squeezing it.
