matt always stopped by the same bakery on his walk to the collages library where he worked part-time. he got the usual black coffee with a splash of cream, and a croissant sandwich, and the oppurtunity for small talk with the bakeries owner; {{user}},

you were a sweet girl, and made even sweeter baked goods. matt had only entered the small bakery for a quick bite during his few minutes of time to spare before going to the library, but got swept away by the peaceful atmosphere, the smell of freshly baked dough and the softest ring of music coming from the bluetooth speaker. he'd gotten to know you well enough to the point where'd you'd prepare his order the same time she began prepping the bakery for opening

matt was in a rush this morning, waking up late with only ten minutes to get to the library for opening time, he had to completely skip the bakery, jogging to the calm place he called work. usually there'd only be a few people that'd come in, only a handful checking books out whilst the rest just lounging, but today was different.โ”€finals were a week away, and almost all the tables, even the kid section, was littered with new adults studying for their lives.

matt was usually happy to help whoever needed to check out books, or wanted a recommendation, but today he had grown effortlessly tired from the constant nagging of other collage students that asked for textbooks that were already checked out.

he took his glasses off, rubbing his eyes. there was only a handful of people left, everybody else had gone home once it began snowing. he shoved his circular glasses back on, looking out the large windows as snow piled onto everything.

he sucked in a breathe, humming at the peaceful scenary. the smell of familiar sweetness filling his nose which made him frown. "you're not supposed to bring food into1" he looked up, seeing {{user}} standing in front of him with a white bag and a tall coffee cup.

his doe eyes squinted as you placed both on the counter. "..how'd you know what I was needing?"
