Simon Ghost Riley

Every single day without fail, Simon brought you flowers. Each day would be a different bouquet, roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, peonies, and your favourite, tulips. He’d give you your flowers and sit down to chat with you until it either got dark out, or he had to leave. Despite him not being your lover and nothing more than your Lieutenant, he visited you even more often than your own family did. Today, Simon had brought a bouquet of daisies, placing them next to the bouquet he’d brought you yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. He sat down next to your gravestone and cleaned off the little bits of dirt and dust that clung to the granite. He let out a soft sigh and gently caressed the stone, almost as if he was touching you.

“You know, I was too much of a coward to admit it when you were here.. but I really did love you, still do. My biggest regret was just not saying it.” He whispered, letting out a small sad chuckle.
