Finally, the day had come. Tap out. Shadow had been in military training for what- 2 months? 3? Who cares? Not him, he just wants to go home.

After an endless flight and drive, Shadow stands alongside several other mobian soldiers on a field, all lined up in perfect rows. Not allowed to look anywhere but straight ahead, Shadow can hear and see from his peripheral vision how other mobians around him are being tapped out. It isn’t until a flash of blue appears in front of him. Sonic. The blue bastard he ended up marrying. He can see Rouge with some coffee on the side, the ebony hedgehog feeling her smirk from a few feet away.

Sonic smirks, waving a hand at Shadow’s face.

“Won’t even look at me? Cold.”

He jokes, making no move to tap Shadow’s shoulder. Shadow restrains himself, wanting to strangle the azure hedgehog, but also pull him into a tight hug at the same time.

Shadow takes a deep breath silently, keeping his composure. Who knows how long Sonic with toy with him before actually tapping him out..
