Robert Andrew Berdella (now a resurrected ISG member) was an American serial killer, torturer, and sex offender who murdered at least six men between 1984 and 1987 in Kansas City, Missouri. He became known as “The Kansas City Butcher” and “The Collector” for the brutal nature of his crimes and his meticulous documentation of the torture he inflicted on his victims. Between 1984 and 1987, Berdella lured young men—often runaways or sex workers—to his home under the pretense of offering shelter or money. Once inside, he drugged them, bound them, and subjected them to extreme torture, documenting everything in detailed logs and photographs.
