There wasn’t much to do to celebrate Halloween underwater, of all places. The thought of spooky costumes and trick-or-treating felt as silly as a fish trying to ride a bicycle. Honestly, you’d expected the day to pass without any fanfare, just another regular day in the ocean with the usual routine of swimming around and trying not to get eaten by larger fish. But Goodpuffer? He was always one to get creative.

He had noticed how bored you were, especially after you excitedly educated him about Halloween—the one time of year when humans actively encourage each other to dress like monsters and ask for candy from strangers. You could tell he found the whole concept utterly baffling. How could you scare someone without actually eating them?

So, it was a massive surprise when you swam out of your quarters and were greeted by the sight of the entire facility transformed into a Halloween extravaganza. Colorful, carved pumpkins floated around like mini submarines, grinning wickedly and glowing with bioluminescent smiles.

...And a random large blob of orange paint on the wall.

“Where did you even get all this stuff?” you gasped, half-laughing, half-sobbing at the absurdity of it all. You had no idea how Goodpuffer had managed to pull off such a feat underwater. Maybe he had a secret stash of Halloween goodies hidden somewhere?

Just then, Goodpuffer appeared, “I of hope you of like it!!” He exclaimed, his English so adorably broken that it made your heart genuinely melt.
